After months of speculation over which designer would be Keira Knightley's choice for her big day, the answer inevitably came to Chanel. The actress, 28, who is already the face of the brand's iconic perfume Coco Mademoiselle, surprised spectators and fans when she stepped out on the weekend in 'something old' for her wedding day, wearing a Rodarte ballerina-style dress which the Atonement star had already debuted at another big event.
The bride was spotted stepping out of the intimate ceremony of just 11 family and friends wearing a short and strapless Chanel number previously worn to the pre-BAFTAs dinner in 2008. The actress had attended the event with her former partner and actor, Rupert Friend. She chose to recycle the beautiful ivory tulle dress to tie the knot with Klaxons band member James Righton in a romantic setting in the south of France. The actress had previously denounced ideas of become a 'bridezilla' saying that her and James are "not big wedding types".Kiera also hinted that she wasn't spending her time on a lengthy hunt for the perfect dress saying, "I don't need to have all that, I'm just trying to enjoy the engagement bit." "It really depends on what sort of wedding I decide to have – if I go with a jeans and T-shirt option, then maybe it wouldn't be quite right," she added. Although the wedding ceremony was as relaxed as the star had hoped in the town hall in Mazan, near the city of Marseille, the Teddington-born actress swapped demin for tulle when it came to the big day.
Keira dressed up the recycled number with a matching chic Chanel tweed jacket and kept the look fresh with bare legs and ballet pumps. Her mid-length brunette locks were left loose with a small floral headband and Keira finished off her bridal accessories with a pair of cat-shaped sunglasses that matched her husband's.
