On Friday, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell wed her partner, Christian Horner, in a fairy-tale wedding in Bedfordshire. Geri, 42, wore a stunning lace gown designed by Phillipa Lepley, and the British couture designer has now revealed to HELLO! Online the inspiration behind Geri's gown.

The dress is a "very simple clean cut, feminine design," said Phillipa. "The cut defines the female form, and still gives drama with the huge skirt. It is a fairy-tale classic which will remain timeless."

She added: "The dress isn't wearing Geri - Geri is wearing the dress and it really shows off her figure so well. I'm thrilled with how Geri looks - I have a passion for French lace, hidden corsets, and big full dresses."

Geri accessorised the gown with a long veil and two pearl bracelets, along with a sweet bouquet of pink and white flowers, and the beaming bride could not keep the smile from her face as she arrived at the church in a vintage Rolls Royce.

Forty-two-year-old Geri was accompanied down the aisle by her nine-year-old daughter Bluebell, who was wearing a blue dress with a large floral crown made up of freesias.

Wedding guests included Emma Bunton, Myleene Klass, and Amanda Holden, while Emma's two sons, Beau and Tate, acted as page boys.

F1 boss Christian had arrived at the venue with his best men at around 3pm on Friday afternoon, looking calm and relaxed as he prepared to walk down the aisle in a sharp three-piece suit.

Phillipa revealed that Geri's dress came from her couture collection, but the pair then worked together "to create a bespoke version especially for her".

With the happy couple only announcing their engagement in November, Phillipa said that there were many "toile and silk fittings taking place" over the last few months.

"[Geri was] an absolute pleasure," added Phillipa, "and she looks beautiful and very happy. I'm delighted for her and with the look we created for her."
