Rita Wilson is one of Hollywood's favourite actresses and the wife of Tom Hanks, so it came as no surprise to see a huge turnout of screen luminaries at the LA world premiere of her play Distracted on the weekend. Grey's Anatomy's Sandra Oh was just one of many stars taking in the performance, which explores the plight of a mother whose eight-year-old boy is diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder.
Nepean-born Sandra is no stranger to treading the boards herself having got her start at the National Theatre School in Montreal. She was joined on the night by her For Your Consideration co-star, funnyman Eugene Levy who will play host at the upcoming Canada Walk Of Fame gala on June 9.
Fellow Canadian Martin Short, who was also in attendance at the Mark Taper Forum, could have been forgiven for feeling relieved that he was in the audience for a change. The 57-year-old thesp has recently finished a run on Broadway of his own production Fame Becomes Me, and is planning a tour later in the year.
