Justin Timberlake and Kylie Minogue stole the show at Thursday's Brit awards as they got up close and personal while performing a duet. The pair teamed up to sing the Blondie hit Rapture before a star-studded audience of their show biz pals.
The 22-year-old American stunned an audience of A-List stars when he grabbed Kylie's "rear of the year" with both hands.
They weren't the only double act to steal the spotlight as Ms Dynamite and George Michael made a transatlantic plea for peace. The two performed together via satellite link, with George singing his lines in Los Angeles while Ms Dynamite took to the stage in London. The two delivered a reworked version of George's hit Faith, calling for political leaders not to attack Iraq.
Ms Dynamite, who later took home the gongs for best British female and best urban act, also surprised the audience by saying thanks to her "husband". The 21-year-old R&B star is pregnant with boyfriend Dwayne Seaforth's child, but has not mentioned wedding plans before.
Eminem was unable to attend the ceremony, but he wasn't about to be outdone in the award or shock-factor categories. The controversial rapper, who won best international male and best international album, gave a pre-recorded acceptance speech peppered with expletives. Coldplay were also double-winners, taking the prizes for best group and best British album. Lead singer Chris Martin, who was accompanied by girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, echoed Ms Dynamite's anti-war stance.
Other winners included Will Young, for best breakthrough artist, The Red Hot Chili Peppers for best international group, and Norah Jones for best international newcomer. Pink took the award for best international female while Robbie Williams won best British male gong for the fourth time.
Enduring Welsh rocker Tom Jones was meanwhile honoured with a lifetime achievement award. The legendary singer used the opportunity to comment on his female fans' penchant for throwing their underwear at him. "I like nice expensive ones with a lot of lace," he said. "If the big baggy ones that sometimes get thrown hit you, it's like being blindfolded."
