The teenager who plays fictional boy wizard Harry Potter is set to overtake a real-life Harry – Prince Charles's son – in the money stakes.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has amassed a £6-million fortune from the franchise, with just two of the seven planned films having been released. Though he was paid a mere £75,000 for the first instalment, Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, the 14-year-old's parents have since re-negotiated larger sums.
At number two, Daniel has surpassed Welsh singer Charlotte Church - who picked up her £5.5-million trust when she turned 18 last month - on the list of the UK's richest teens. And while Prince Harry's £14-million stash easily places him in the top spot, the boy wizard is hot on the 18-year-old royal's heels, thanks to his ballooning paycheck.
"His earnings to date are only the tip of the iceberg," one movie insider says of Daniel's financial potential. "He'll be the richest teenager in the UK and one of the richest in the world by the time it's all done."
