David Hasselhoff has been revving up his musical career with a series of appearances around the UK. The former Knight Rider star has been singing, dancing and flirting his way through promotional events to publicise his new single Jump In My Car.

The 54-year-old actor was on characteristically effusive form when he turned out to sign copies of the new disc at HMV's flagship store in Oxford Street. And he was equally enthusiastic, despite feeling distinctly sleepy, when he gave an early-morning interview on GMTV.

Glamorous presenter Jenni Falconer might have been forgiven for going red after the statuesque performer asked whether she was romantically involved. "You're not engaged?," he queried with a wry smile, before exclaiming: "Oh, I have a chance!".

The 6ft 4in actor is obviously feeling the effects of a packed schedule, though, as he confessed to dozing off at one point. "I was falling asleep on GMTV until I saw Jenni," he revealed afterwards. "I was really tired. I've been in Vancouver, then Leeds, then Manchester, then Croydon."
