Kate and Pete brand wedding stories as 'entirely false'

When Kate Moss and her rocker boyfriend Pete Doherty attended a New Year's bash in Thailand rumours abounded that the headline-making couple had tied the knot. But reports that the two had wed in a romantic New Year's Day shoreline ceremony on the island of Phuket have been denied by the supermodel's spokesman, however.

"Contrary to various entirely false media reports, there has not been any kind of marriage ceremony in Thailand. She is on holiday," the spokesman said.

The furore was sparked when Kate - barefoot in a silver Galliano shift dress and with her hair swept into a bun - was snapped participating in what appeared to be a Thai wedding ceremony on a beach with her Babyshambles beau Pete.

The pair had seen in the New Year a few hours earlier at an extravagant party attended by guests including Sarah Ferguson and her daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.

The wedding photos of another loved-up couple were certainly for real, though. My Family star Robert Lindsay married his long-term partner Rosemarie Ford, the ex-Generation Game host, during an emotional New Year's Eve ceremony at a Buckinghamshire golf club. It was followed by a candlelit church blessing in the nearby village of Denham, where the actor lives.

The pair emerged under umbrellas before posing for photos with their children Samuel, seven, and Jamie, three. Comic Robert, 57, laughed off the bad weather, saying he was "elated".
