The evening honoured theatre impresario Sir Cameron Mackintosh, the force behind hugely popular new West End musical Oliver!. Taking to the podium to acknowlege his lifetime achievement accolade, Sir Cameron apologised for "interfering" with "re-writes for the last 40 years".
