Her husband only favoured "boring" names like Tom and Sarah; her youngest Angel, four, thought Bubblegum would be nice and Phoenix, her 12-year-old, came up with Skylar. All that was before the baby was born. Six days ago – as exclusively revealed by hellomagazine.com – the Brown-Belafonte clan welcomed a new girl. And now Melanie Brown and her movie producer husband Stephen Belafonte have settled on a name that's beautiful and not quite as wacky as Bubblegum.
The little one will be called Madison, at the suggestion of Phoenix, who is Mel's daughter from her first marriage. Soon after the little one's arrival the excited mum tweeted: "(She) wants to pick her sister's baby name, so fingers crossed she picks a good one!!" Then later on, Mel added: "Phoenix has named our baby girl the cutest name, can't wait for you guys to hear it, soon ma peeps!!" As well as being mother to the pre-teen and Angel, who is from her relationship with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy, the feisty Leeds lass is also stepmum to Stephen's daughter Giselle, seven.
And the three girls couldn't be happier with the new addition to their number.
"Mel and Madison are home from the hospital," said a source "The baby is very loved, and her sisters are absolutely doting on her. Madison is a very happy baby."
