Lenny Henry surprised Comic Relief viewers with his new slimmed down and youthful appearance on Friday night’s show. The comedian, aged 58, co-founded Comic Relief back in 1985 with film director Richard Curtis, but as some fans noticed, the star appears to be ageing backwards! Presenting the charity show in his smart suit, Lenny opened the night with an energetic dance routine among a group of dancers. Twitter followers were quick to comment on Lenny’s new look. “I want whatever Lenny Henry is having. He's never looked healthier/younger,” wrote one, while another fan said: “Does Lenny ever age? Looking fabulous on #comicrelief.” There were more flattering comments for the star as Red Nose Day viewers said on social media: “How is Lenny Henry managing to look about twenty years younger?!” and “Lenny Henry is looking very handsome tonight.”

It was a successful night for both Lenny and Comic Relief, which has so far raised a huge £71,308,475. The money helps people with tough lives in the UK and funds projects in the world’s poorest communities. Friday night’s show was packed full of humour, with unmissable sketches from Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, a hilarious Carpool Karaoke with James Corden and Take That, and the Love Actually cast coming together for a much-anticipated sequel.
