The team at HELLO! is taking a deep dive into some of the most heated family feuds we've witnessed in Hollywood. Keep scrolling to discover more…
The Beckhams
Bonding with the in-laws is high up on the list of any married couple's agenda. For Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz, the bonding process is ongoing…
Nicola and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham became embroiled in a widely reported feud following the actress' fairytale nuptials in April 2022.
The reported family feud centred on Nicola's wedding gown. According to reports, the blonde beauty chose not to wear one of her mother-in-law's wedding gowns on her big day. Despite the frosty encounter, Nicola has staunchly denied the existence of any bitter dispute. Speaking to Cosmopolitan, she said: "I've said this so many times: There's no feud.
"I don't know. No one ever wants to write the nice things. It's really weird, actually, whether it's my life or someone else's life or whatever, when you know the truth and then you read something totally wrong."
Hubby Brooklyn, meanwhile, told Variety: "I've learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that. They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good."
The Kardashian sisters
The Kardashian clan are firm favourites on our TV screens thanks to their hugely popular series Keeping Up With the Kardashians and The Kardashians. While the family are incredibly close-knit, the sibling gang frequently cross wires as a result of their wildly different personalities.
In Season 18, Kourtney and Kim's dispute surrounding their respective work ethics erupted into a physical fight. The duo locked horns after Kim claimed that Kourtney and the other Kardashian sisters weren't as committed to the reality TV series.
"I don't wanna hear this narrative anymore about this work ethic," Kourtney shared in a confessional. "It's as if she's better than everyone because she works more — it's such [expletive]. We don't all have to do things the same way."
She went on to say: "If I didn't want to work my ass off, and I did want to be a stay-at-home mom, that's [expletive] fine, you literal [expletive]."
The Jonas Brothers
Despite their unity on stage as The Jonas Brothers, sibling trio Kevin, Joe and Nick split up as a band in 2013. "To call it creative differences is almost too simple," Nick explained in a CBS Sunday Morning interview.
"And I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world. So, you know, we were putting up shows that weren't selling. We were making music that I don't think we were all super proud of, and it wasn't connected."
Touching on their strained relationship, Nick revealed that he had a "tough conversation" with Kevin and Joe. Recalling the tricky encounter, he went on to say: "I said, 'You know, I feel like the Jonas Brothers should be no more, and we should go on individual journeys.' And it didn't go so well."
And in an interview with host Josh Zepps, Kevin explained: "Being able to play shows and travel together was great, but then once at the end there, the friction was too much and we just really needed to break away and kind of do our own things for some time."
Their rift was reportedly the result of clashing ideas in regards to their band's sound and direction.
Solange and Jay-Z
Back in 2014, Jay-Z had a widely-reported fight with his sister-in-law, Solange Knowles. The scuffle took place in an elevator following a Met Gala party, with footage being picked up by surveillance cameras.
Speaking in an interview with Rap Radar hosts Elliott Wilson and Brian 'B.Dot' Miller, Jay-Z explained: "We had one disagreement ever. Before and after we've been cool. She's like my sister. I will protect her. That's my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period."
The father-of-three added: "We've always had a great relationship. I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space. But it ain't nothing."
In a joint statement, the duo addressed the heated debate, adding: "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.
"Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other, and we have moved forward as a united family."
It continued: "The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems, and we're no different. We love each other, and above all, we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."
The Hudsons
Over the years, actors Kate and Oliver Hudson have had their ups and downs with their biological dad, Bill Hudson. While the Hudson family – Bill shares his two children with ex-wife Goldie Hawn – were close during Kate and Oliver's childhood, the family grew apart after Goldie and Bill divorced in 1982.
In an eye-opening interview, Goldie maintained that her ex-husband was an "absentee father," a statement corroborated by Kate and Oliver. The family bust-up came to a head in 2015 after Oliver, 46, posted a snapshot on social media in honour of Father's Day. In his caption, he quipped: "Happy abandonment day."
Elsewhere, Bill spoke to The Mail about his side of the story. Speaking out against his kids and ex-wife, he said: "Goldie wanted to create this myth of a perfect family with Kurt and she wanted me out."
He went on to say: "I say to them now, 'I set you free'. I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own. I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name. They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver's Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth."
