Kara Tointon has confirmed that she is no longer in a relationship with Artem Chigvintsev. The couple started dating after they were partnered together on Strictly Come Dancing in 2010. But this week, the actress revealed their romance has come to an end.
"We are not together," Kara, 31, told the Telegraph. "We're fine, but we aren't a couple any more. "The reason I haven't spoken about it is because I hate reading about myself in that way."
It was first rumoured that the couple had gone their separate ways earlier this year after Kara was seen out and about without the Russian dancer – who is now starring on Dancing with the Stars in the US.
The pair had found it increasingly difficult to spend time together, with Kara adding that 32-year-old Artem's visa meant he was unable to stay in the UK permanently.
Now Kara is focused on the future – in particular her upcoming role in the new series of Mr Selfridge.
"I finished filming for the show last week," she said. "It comes out in January next year. "I play the eldest daughter of Harry Selfridge, her name is Rosalie. We're playing from 1919, so it’s all period, which is absolutely fascinating."
