In eight weeks Michael Phelps and his fiancée Nicole Johnson will become parents for the first time. The former Miss California beauty has showed off her burgeoning baby bump in a sweet photo on Instagram, in which she posed proudly alongside her future husband.

The pregnant model was the picture of health and happiness, glowing in her poolside shot. Nicole and Michael, both 30, were showing around their friends who were visiting the couple in LA.

In the lead-up to the birth, Nicole has been keeping fit and doing light exercise. The mum-to-be shared a selfie after a barrecore class, joking that her unborn child, who she has nicknamed "Baby P", has been helping her work out.

Nicole Johnson is 32 weeks pregnant

"Baby P and I just finished our #barre3 workout for the day crazy to think in about 8 weeks he'll no longer be helping me workout," she wrote, adding that she is 32 weeks pregnant.

Clearly ecstatic about the upcoming birth of his child, Michael also shared a gorgeous photo on Instagram of himself and his wife-to-be. Next to the photo of Nicole cradling her bump, the Olympian wrote: "#babyp is growing day by day... So thankful to have my best friend with me everyday!!! #growingafamily #blessed."

The couple are expecting a baby boy

The couple couldn't wait to find out the sex of their baby and back in November they revealed that they are having a boy.

The pregnancy announcement came just a few months after Michael popped the question. However the couple won't be marrying until after the baby's birth and the upcoming Rio 2016 Olympics.

Michael popped the question in February 2015

Michael, who is the most decorated Olympian of all time, checked into a facility and received treatment after he was arrested in September 2014 for the second time for DUI. He has vowed not to drink before the Olympics this summer.

Michael has won a record 18 gold and 22 overall medals over the past three Olympics.
