David Beckham has been celebrating his 41st birthday with his family this weekend, but the doting dad-of-four took the time to send a video message to his fans thanking them for their support over the last year.

The retired footballer, who is currently enjoying a long weekend in the countryside, looked happy and relaxed in a flat cap with a jumper draped over his shoulders as he waved to the camera. He said: "Hi everybody, so it's a year to the day since I joined Instagram, I just want to thank you all for your support! 22 million in a year – not too bad!".

David's short message was then followed by a montage of his most liked Instagram photos of the year, including snaps of his family, filming his H&M advert and his travels around the world.
He captioned the video: "Thank you all for the birthday messages and for your support this year!"
The father-of-four's family members also took to the social media to wish him a happy birthday, with his wife Victoria posting a photo of David crouching in front of a 'happy birthday' banner while surrounded by presents wrapped in world map wrapping paper. She captioned the image: "Happy Birthday to the most amazing husband and wonderful daddy X We all love you so much!!".
The 41-year-old's eldest son Brooklyn also posted a snap in honour of his dad's birthday. The picture shows the two of them sat on a farm gate together. "Happy birthday dad. I'm so lucky to have a dad and a hero all in one! Love you so much", he wrote alongside the image.
