Sir Elton John has revealed he has reconciled with his mother Sheila Farebrother. Taking to his social media pages on Sunday, the 70-year-old singer shared a heartfelt message as he marked the American Mother's Day. Alongside a sweet throwback picture of the pair, he simply wrote: "Dear Mum, Happy Mother’s Day! So happy we are back in touch. Love, Elton." The mother and son appear to be on good terms, ending their nine-year long feud.
Last year, Elton revealed he wasn't happy over Sheila's comments that offended his husband David Furnish as he opened up about their family rift. "It upsets me but, to be honest, I don't miss her." He added: "That was pretty hard to take. I don't hate my mother. I look after her but I don't want her in my life." In 2011, Sheila, now 92, spoke about their fall-out during a chat with The Sun. She said: "He has cut me off completely. It happened three years ago this June. He has had nothing to do with me since then. My son cut me out of his life for good."

Elton's Mother's Day message comes shortly after he was put in intensive care for contracting a bacterial infection. And while he was forced to cancel his Las Vegas shows, Elton has revealed he will be back touring in June. In an interview with The Sun, the legendary star insisted: "I'm not finished yet! I'm more interested in keeping going. I have so much more to do." Sir Elton, who shares sons Zachary, six, and Elijah, four, with husband David, is hoping to return to stage for his gig at Twickenham on 3 June.
