The sun is shining, temperatures are rising and we've been promised that it's set to be a scorcher of a summer. What can make it even better? Sipping on an ice-cold slushy cocktail, of course. We've teamed up with DesignMyNight to bring you the best frozen cocktails across the UK, from watermelon martinis at a glamorous Hamptons pop-up to to piña coladas at a beach in the sky, these ice-cold tipples are sure to revive you during a heatwave.
Queen of Hoxton - London
Queen of Hoxton is one of London's most loved rooftops, and their Neverland pop-up for summer 2017 might be their best theme yet. Expect to see a Lost Boys' Bar, giant clams that double as seating and a magical pirate ship serving up street food. When you're done taking snaps for Insta, make a move on their slushie cocktails. There are five to choose from, but our favourite is the Scarlett Fizz. Made with Amaro Di Angostura, orange juice, home-made 'frosecco', and topped with more prosecco; it's heaven in a glass.
Dalloway Terrace - London
Dalloway Terrace is inspired by Virginia Woolf's classic 1925 novel, Mrs Dalloway, and is one of London's prettiest al fresco drinking spots. Blooming with white flowers and boasting candlelit tables for two, you'd swear it was plucked straight from the pages of a fairytale. Their summer cocktail list is packed with decadent drinks too, and they have a Frosé tipple that’s made with lillet and strawberry.
Aviary - London
If you like (frozen) Piña Coladas and (not) gettin' caught in the rain, there's only one place for you this summer, and that's Aviary. This new rooftop bar parades stunning views of London's skyline and its cocktails are fully equipped for tackling London's humid weather. There are plenty of frozen drinks to quench your thirst, from frozen Piña Coladas to Tanqueray G&Ts.
Be At One - Cardiff
Knocking up everything from classic Margaritas to Kinder Bueno ice-cream cocktails, Be At One know a thing or two when it comes to creating the perfect tipple. Their Frozen Bellini is one of a kind though, coming served in peach, mango or strawberry flavour, with Absolut Vodka as a base. As the saying goes, variety is the spice of life.
Flight Club Bloomsbury - London
Still think darts is a sport reserved for balding men with oversized stomachs? Think again. Flight Club have challenged the stereotype with their fun interactive approach, and you need to get involved. In-between aiming for the bullseye, take a sip of their slushie cocktails. There are two flavours to choose from; the Coco Fumanda is made with Havana rum, and the Fruit Mare is made with Ketel One Vodka.
Brixton Beach - London
Get a few feet closer to the sun this summer and make a beeline for Brixton Beach; one of the hottest pop-ups in the capital. This sky-high spot has a unique Cuban theme with tonnes of golden sand and exotic quirks. Before you sink into one of their cosy deck chairs for the evening, hit the bar and order one of their frozen Margaritas or Piña Coladas; both pack a punch.
Patterns - Brighton
Patterns have given their sea-facing terrace a Miami makeover for summer with a swimming pool-effect floor and exotic palm trees. That's not the only thing that's new though; they've created the UK's first ever 'frosecco cocktails'. The Aperol Spritz Slushie and the Mojitio Royal Slushie are flawless, and they also have glasses of frozen prosecco if you want something a tad simpler.
Avenue - London
Take a breather from London's bustling streets this summer and recharge at Avenue's Hamptons-themed pop-up. Promising pink flamingos, fresh seafood and hand-crafted cocktails, this East Coast hangout has it all. Their Frozen Watermelon Martini is at the top of the cocktail pyramid - so make sure you order it before you depart from this little slice of paradise.
