Supermodel Heidi Klum and her boyfriend, 53-year-old Formula One boss Flavio Briatore, are expecting a baby, the couple announced on Tuesday.
According to a statement released by the 30-year-old German covergirl and the Italian businessman, the new arrival is expected in the spring.
It has been a year of changes for Heidi, whose five-year marriage to hairstylist Ric Pepino came to an end in November, 2002. The Victoria's Secret model was briefly linked to Red Hot Chilli Peppers front man Anthony Kiedis before beginning a romance with millionaire Flavio, whose previous girlfriends include Naomi Campbell, in the early months of 2003.
The relationship began to hot up during spring and summer, with the jetsetting pair spotted everywhere from New York to St Tropez, and a dazzling diamond ring sparking rumours of an engagement.
"Heidi is the one, I know that," said divorcé Flavio earlier this year. She's fantastic… With our relationship, everything is possible. I'm not ruling anything out. Marriage, a family – with Heidi I can imagine doing all that. I am happier than I've ever been."
