The late Gianni Versace's niece has become one of the world's richest teenagers after inheriting half of his business. Allegra Beck, who turned 18 on Wednesday, has received a £136 million share in her uncle's company.
Allegra was just 11 years old when Gianni was murdered at his Miami mansion in 1997. But the legendary designer bequeathed half his estate to the youngster he referred to as his "little princess".
After her brother's death Donatella Versace decided to hide her children away from the prying eyes of the press and they have rarely been seen in public, although Allegra did step out for a lavish birthday party in Milan a few weeks ago.
It remains to be seen whether the youngster will choose to play an active role in running the company. Her mother Donatella still owns 20 per cent of the firm while her uncle Santo holds the remaining 30 per cent.
Allegra has expressed an interest in acting and she is expected to pursue a career in the movies. "If she succeeds, that's fine. If not, she will come and work in the company," said her mother recently. "She draws very well. She has asked for time until she is 23 to see what she wants to do."
