Wearing leather trousers, a leather jacket over a dark cashmere shirt and black boots, Ewan McGregor is the epitome of biker chic. The actor, an avid motorcyclist, is smouldering as he models for luxury brand Belstaff, striking several poses on a motorbike. The story of how their collaboration came about is somewhat unusual.
Although usually celebrities are approached by brands, Ewan actually volunteered to be the face of Belstaff, according to their CEO Harry Slatkin. "Ewan contacted me just after we bought Belstaff with an email titled 'Born To Ride'", he said. "With his love of the brand and his inherent rugged good looks he was a natural to be our lead male for the campaign." And the Scottish star recently spoke to GQ about his involvement with the campaign and why he feels so passionate about wearing Belstaff. He said: "I’ve worn Belstaff for years and I ride a bike every day. I love the nostalgia of old motorbikes and the brand’s heritage goes right back to the Twenties. "There is stuff in the archive that I would happily wear on my bike today. So I thought a professional relationship would be a really good fit. "It's not the first time the actor has shown his love for leather, in 2004 he embarked on a motorbike journey with travel writer Charley Boorman that took them around the world from London to New York. The trek was filmed and made into a movie entitled Long Way Round. They followed it up in 2007 with Long Way Down, riding from John O'Groats to Cape Town.
