Showing off her long, lean legs and toned stomach in a lacy red bra and suspenders, jaws dropped as Adriana Lima took to the Victoria's Secret runway on Wednesday night. For the Brazilian beauty was, incredibly, making her return to the prestigious catwalk a mere eight weeks after giving birth. Her astonishing physique is the result of gruelling workouts she has been undergoing in the run up to the show. Adriana shared her journey back to model form with her fans on Twitter, posting pictures of herself dripping with sweat after intense exercise sessions.
Another angel showing off her post-baby body was Lily Aldridge, who gave birth to Dixie Pearl Followill on June 21. The 26-year-old has clearly been working hard too – she showed no signs of any baby weight in her barely-there stars and stripes outfit at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City. But the new mums weren't the only angels that got the crowd talking. Erin Heatherton, who has recently split with movie star Leonardo DiCaprio, put on a brave face for the occasion, looking as gorgeous as ever with her tumbling blonde tresses and megawatt smile. And Miranda Kerr looked simply angelic as she took to the glittering runway in an enormous pair of white swan feather wings.
Showing off designs in keeping with the show's themes 'circus' and 'angels in bloom', the genetically blessed models walked out to performances from megastars Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. Rihanna was certainly dressed up for the occasion, showing off her suspender-clad thigh in a black corset gown with a full slit. She vamped up the outfit further with long lace gloves, black boots and a pearl choker.
And she quickly got into the spirit of things as she sang her new songs Diamonds and Fresh Off The Runway, dancing with Dutch beauty Doutzen Kroes and grabbing one angel's underwear as she strutted past. Justin Bieber, meanwhile, managed to keep his composure as he serenaded the supermodels with his new tunes As Long As You Love Me and Beauty and the Beat before joining them all on stage for the finale.
Understandably, the 18-year-old was delighted with his gig, saying backstage: "It's like a dream come true. I would rather be here than anywhere in the world." After 11 years of being an angel, Brazilian beauty Alessandra Ambrosio was finally given the honour of showcasing this year's Fantasy Bra, worth $2.5 million. And she certainly made the most of her moment, putting her arms in the air as she stepped out in the coveted piece featuring intricate flowers and 5,000 stones.
Victoria's Secret and American channel CBS, which will air the show on December 4, have each donated 1 million dollar to victims of the superstorm Sandy.
