The crowd that gathered outside the Bafta Awards found Angelina Jolie to be one of the event's warmest guests. The Lara Croft star spent nearly an hour chatting with fans before heading into the star-studded event. Her appearance marked a rather frostier moment for estranged husband Billy Bob Thornton, however, as her elegant sleeveless dress revealed she had used make-up to cover the tattoo bearing his name.

After their marriage three years ago the pair showed their love in a series of very public gestures. They took to wearing vials of each other's blood as pendants and Billy Bob recorded a song, Angelina, declaring his adoration for the beautiful actress. Angelina's tattoo, which consisted of a serpent under her husband's name, was just another of their many acts of affection.

She later filed for divorce, however, citing irreconcilable differences. The end of the romance was further confirmed when she arrived in Leicester Square on Sunday, and photographers noticed that "Billy Bob" was no longer on her arm. It would seem likely she'll have the tattoo removed permanently using laser treatment.

Her troubled relationship with father Jon Voight seems to be entering greener pastures, however, amidst reports that the two have reconciled. A rift is said to have developed between them last year, after the 27-year-old initiated divorce proceedings. It seems they have now resolved their differences, as they were seen dining together last week in London.
