A group of New Zealand revellers were treated to an au naturel performance by Kiefer Sutherland recently, when the actor paid a visit to the town of Raetihi.
Over 100 ladies had come to the Cosmopolitan Club to see male strippers The Men of Steel strut their muscle-bound stuff. But they got quite a surprise when Kiefer, who was in town to film a new movie, decided to join in the fun.
During the first half of the show, the 24 star made two attempts to sneak into the women-only area and demonstrate his saucy skills. Security guards wouldn't let him have his way at first, but as the second half got underway they decided to relent.
With the Tom Jones hit You Can Leave Your Hat On blaring in the background, Kiefer duly stripped to the waist and twirled his shirt above his head. His performance wasn't quite so graceful as that of the professional dancers – removing his socks proved a bit of a struggle - but none of the excited onlookers seemed to be complaining.
Anyone hoping to see a little more of the hunky actor was left disappointed, though, because the bouncers stepped in before things went too far. "You can put your clothes on now," suggested one burly guard as he ushered the 37-year-old off the stage.
"He was just having a good time," said a staff member afterwards. "He enjoyed himself because he was treated like a local."
