Nicole Kidman had a nail-biting experience in the air above California over the weekend. The Moulin Rouge star was making her way from LA to Palm Springs during a torrential downpour when the private jet in which she was travelling suddenly plummeted hundreds of feet. No one was injured in the incident and the flight continued without further problems.
Seasoned flier Nicole, who has been burning up the air miles recently on the publicity trail promoting her latest movie Birth, took the scare in her stride and caught a return flight to LA that same evening.
In addition to state hopping, the busy star also took time to appear on a popular chat show stateside on Tuesday. In it she spoke candidly about the attitude of her and Tom Cruise's two adopted children to the couple's fame.
The 37-year-old Australian star, who tries to keep the youngsters out of the public eye, said her daughter Isabella, 12, and son Conor, ten, were "embarrassed" to be seen with their famous parents.
"They actually deny us," Nicole told Ellen DeGeneres on the US comedienne's talk show. "I go to Conor's soccer games and Bella's on the sidelines and is like, 'Don't touch me'. Then I tease her and kiss her and she gets really angry."
Even though their dad is one of the world's leading film stars and mum is an Oscar winner, it appears that Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's kids are no different to others their age – considering it uncool to be seen in public with mum and dad.
