Ioan Gruffudd's latest movie outing, The TV Set, is a biting satire on the cut-throat world of prime time television. The Welsh actor seemed anything but cold-hearted when he arrived for the premiere of the new flick with his girlfriend Alice Evans, though.
The loved-up pair hugged and kissed warmly, much to the delight of the waiting photographers, as they made their entrance at the glitzy screening. Alice, elegant in black and white silk, had gone along to support her leading man as he took centre stage at the Tribeca Film Festival.
David Duchovny and Sigourney Weaver, who also appear in the movie, were in attendance for the event, too. And the flick marks something of a departure for the X-Files star: his character, a struggling writer with chronic back problems, is a far cry from the secret agent role he is best known for.
Ioan is obviously in no hurry to wave goodbye to the world of sci-fi, however, as he's about to get down to work on a new Fantastic Four movie. The previous instalment was the 32-year-old's first outing as a leading man in a major Hollywood production, so he didn't hesitate to sign up for two more. "I'm not afraid of being typecast," he explained. "After all, Mr Fantastic isn't such a bad name to be saddled with."
