So passionate about promoting Spanish wine is Antonio Banderas he's been honoured with awards in his homeland for his hard work. Now the Malaga-born star has gone one step further, by investing in a Spanish 'bodega'.

The 48-year-old Malaga-born actor – who frequently endorses the products of his native Andalusia – has bought 50 per cent of Anta Bodegas. Located in north west Spain, the winery produces four red wines and a rosé, as well as olive oil.

With Antonio now on board, the company – which has been run by the same family for the last ten years – will be renamed Anta Banderas Bodegas.

Founded by Teodore Ortega in 1999, the firm produces around 1.5 million bottles of wine a year from 590 acres of vineyards.

"Antonio Banderas is someone who is passionate about the world of wine and it makes us proud that he selected us as partners," says Teodore's son and co-manager Federico Ortega.
