Ready to return to Hogwarts? According to Bloomberg, a new Harry Potter adaptation is in the works with HBO. Reports have revealed that each season will focus on a different Harry Potter book, meaning that there are likely plans for a seven-season show.
It has been suggested that Warner Bros. Discovery are still in the early stages of discussion - and that the author of the novels, JK Rowling, would be involved "to insure it remains loyal to her original material". However, she is not expected to be the show’s creator or showrunner.
HBO Max has declined to make any official comment, and fans have certainly had a mixed response to the news, with one writing: "Did anyone actually ask for this?" Another person wrote: "I see this failing miserably. The movies are great and to be honestly unbeatable."
However, others felt very differently, with one tweeting: "The books were amazing. The movies were awful, tv would be the way to go," while another wrote: "I have high hopes for HBO. They did House of The Dragon and TLOU beautifully, can't wait I see this failing miserably. The movies are great and to be honest unbeatable."

Should the TV show get made, it would be at least 12 years after the final Harry Potter movie, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, was released back in 2011.
© SkyDaniel has previously spoken about who he’d like to play if the series ever did reboot. Chatting on Josh Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad Confused, he revealed that he would love to play either Sirius or Lupin. He said: "I would probably want to go with like, Sirius or Lupin. Those were always the two characters that I was like ‘They’re great.’
"And also like, I’m obviously biased by my experience of filming those scenes, with those people, and they’re like some of my favourite memories."
