Aside from her generous spirit and trend-setting wardrobe, the Princess of Wales is known for her glossy Rapunzel-like locks, sparking hair envy everywhere.

The 41-year-old royal always looks flawless no matter the occasion, and her flowing tresses are consistently immaculate.

And guess what? Her beauty really is all natural. Her hairdresser Chris Appleton dismissed rumours that the Princess of Wales wears extensions while speaking to HELLO!

"She's got great hair, she always has done. I can tell by the ends of her hair that they're not extensions. They have a softness to them and they're split in places. I think her new curtain bangs and addition of layers has made the back look longer, that's all."

2007: Sleek and straight

Prior to marrying into the royal family, Kate sported sleek long tresses which she typically styled in a sweeping side part.

Veering away from bouncy blowouts, the then part-time accessory buyer gently curled the ends of her locks for a beautifully simple yet stylish look.

2008: Side swept bangs

Side partings flipped over to one side were huge in the early noughties, and Princess Kate, as to be expected, offered a masterclass in achieving the nonchalant, fuss-free hairdo.

For a touch of texture, Kate interspersed her smooth and sleek mane with subtle layers.

2010: Ringlets galore

When Prince William and Kate announced their engagement in 2010, the mother-of-three resembled a glowing princess-to-be with her regal ringlets cascading around her shoulders.

How did she achieve the perfectly polished glass-like shine? We're desperate to find out…

2011: A classic half-up with a twist

Kate's 'Demi Chignon' wedding hair broke a 350-year royal tradition of bridal updos, as she instead opted to let her curls cascade behind her tulle veil.

The look was perfect for a princess as she finished the look with a halo tiara.

2012: Elaborate updo

Ahead of London 2012's incredible Olympic and Paralympic games, Kate opted for an elaborate braided updo. The perfectly balanced look certainly left an impression and was particularly on trend for the time.

2012: Perfect pearls

On a trip to Malaysia, the Princess accessorised her twisted updo with a number of pearls for a simple yet beautiful effect that really elevated the look.

2013: Honeyed highlights

In 2013, Kate ditched her deep chocolate hue in favour of a warm chestnut tone flecked with honeyed highlights.

She masterfully pulled off the major transition and continued to style her locks in gentle waves and a more central parting.

2014: A simple twist

Kate gave the classic updo a modern twist - quite literally as her hair pieces were delicately twisted together at the back for a simple and classy take on an otherwise practical look.

2014: Voluminous waves

For some serious va-va-voom, the Princess of Wales spruced up her repertoire of hairdos with a beautifully bouncy blowout circa 2014.

Injecting some movement, we suspect the royal may have also added a few more face-framing layers.

2015: Funky fringe debut

Kate first experimented with a bold fringe back in 2015. Going in for the chop, Prince William's wife opted for sweeping curtain bangs à la Brigitte Bardot.

2017: A face-framing swoop

Kate showed the world the perfect way to keep annoying front pieces from falling in your face, as she pinned her face-framing front hair pieces into a soft swoop along the side of her hair, falling into the rest of her honey brown waves.

2017: The chop

The royal fully embraced change in 2017 when she lobbed off her tresses and debuted a glorious long bob.

Keeping things simple, Kate sported a centre part and twirled the ends of her locks for a glamorous finishing touch.

2019: A classic ponytail

Kate opted for a voluminous, chic ponytail for a practical look. A clever tip to recreate this look at home would be to take note of how she hides the hairband with her own hair for a natural, slick element that ties the look together.

2019: Sunkissed highlights

In 2019, Kate seemingly experimented with a few lighter shades of blonde and fiery auburn.

As ever, the brunette beauty nailed the look and made a strong case for subtle colour transformations.

2021: The return of the side part

The side part made a triumphant return in 2019 – and we're totally here for it.

This time around, the royal opted for a perfectly manicured mane with undulating waves running through the ends. Perfection.

2022: Siren waves

Kate's hair looked luscious and long in 2022. Whether influenced by the omnipresent siren waves hair trend or not, the mother-of-three rocked some seriously mesmerising mermaid-esque waves.

2023: The ultimate updo

As she attended King Charles' coronation, Kate kept it simple with a classic updo that allowed the incredible Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen floral headpiece to stand out.

2023: The return of the fringe

Kate returned to her 2015 roots this year when she stepped out rocking a 70s-inspired fringe.

Whilst reminiscent of her former locks, Kate's brand-new bangs appear to be longer and somewhat subtler thanks to the flawless shaping.

Kate paired her new face-framing fringe with a simple chignon at the back for a stunningly chic look. As face-framing piece-y fringes were all the rage in 2023, the look was a practical approach to an on-trend hairstyle.
