Alesha Dixon's early career
Alesha Dixon was born on 7 October 1978 in Welwyn Garden City and has six half-siblings. The singer originally planned on becoming a PE teacher after finishing her studies. It was only after a record producer approached her on a train that she considered a career in music, eventually putting her degree on hold to join a dance academy where she met her future bandmate Sabrina Washington.
Alongside Su-Elise Nash and Zena McNally, they formed R&B band Mis-Teeq, releasing their first single, Why?, in 2000, though Zena left soon after. The remaining trio launched their debut album Lickin' On Both Sides, followed in 2003 by Eye Candy.

In 2005, they announced they were splitting to follow solo projects.
Alesha Dixon's solo career
She recorded her debut solo album Fired Up in 2006 before moving into the TV industry. In 2007, the star won the fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing alongside Matthew Cutler, before releasing albums The Alesha Show and The Entertainer.
Alesha has also been a judge on Strictly, Britain's Got Talent, America's Got Talent and Walk the Line.
Alesha Dixon's marriage
Alesha married her first husband, So Solid Crew member MC Harvey, in June 2005 but they split just one year later following his affair with Javine Hylton.
She went on to find love with dancer Azuka Ononye whom she met in 2006. It wasn't until years later that their relationship turned romantic, and they welcomed their daughter Azura in 2013.
They tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2017 before their second daughter Anaya was born in 2019.
