Scottish actor James McAvoy started his career in explosive style with the wartime TV dramas Band Of Brothers and Regeneration. Having emerged from the trenches unscathed, he then headed for the equally treacherous environs of Whitehall, where he played Dan in the political drama State Of Play. James has also appeared in a number of major movie productions, most notably Bright Young Things and Wimbledon.
