King Charles will no doubt be joined by members of his family for Trooping the Colour this week, and while Queen Camilla is unlikely to be joined by her children or grandchildren on the Buckingham Palace balcony, they still hold a special place in her heart.

Camilla shares her children Tom and Laura with her ex-husband, Andrew Parker-Bowles. The former couple were married from 1973 until 1995 and have remained on good terms since their divorce. Camilla is a very proud grandmother of five. Her son, Tom Parker Bowles, has Lola, 16, and Freddy, 14, and her daughter, Laura Lopes, has Eliza, 16, and 14-year-old twins, Louis and Gus.

Charles is also besotted with Camilla's grandchildren, and during the coronation last year, the Queen's three grandsons all appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony as Pages of Honour, a role that also went to the King's eldest grandson, Prince George.

Here's all you need to know about Camilla's two children and her five grandchildren...

Camilla's oldest child Tom was born on 18 December 1974 in London. Tom works as a food writer and has written seven cookbooks, with restaurant reviews in the likes of GQ, Esquire and The Mail on Sunday. Although he's tried food across the world and judged in numerous TV food shows, his love of food stems from home.

"My father was often away with the army, or in London, but mum did a lot of the cooking. She never liked cakes, not baking. Meat. Fish. That's what she did", Tom revealed in 2012 to the Evening Standard. Famous for her roast chicken, Camilla's cooking skills and recipes inspired Tom to start writing about food.

Tom married fashion editor Sara Buys in 2005 at St Nicholas' Church in Oxfordshire; his cousin Ben Elliot was his best man. The wedding, which took place five months after Camilla's marriage to Charles, was attended by his mother and stepfather, as well as stepbrothers Princes William and Harry. While now divorced, Tom and Sara share two children: daughter Lola and son Frederick, also known as Freddy.

Laura was born on 1 January 1978 and after studying History of Art and Marketing at Oxford Brookes University, she spent three months as an intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. After managing the Space Gallery in London, she co-founded Eleven, a fine art gallery in Belgravia in 2005.

She married chartered accountant and model Harry Marcus George Lopes in 2006, with whom she has three children: daughter Eliza and twins Gus and Louis. Her husband is also the grandson of Massey Lopes, 2nd Baron Roborough, and is in line to one day inherit Gnaton Hall in Devon and Skelpick Estate in the Scottish Highlands.

Born on 9 October 2007, Lola is the Queen's eldest grandchild. It's thought that Camilla made a sweet reference to eldest grandchild Lola during a 2022 interview with Vogue when she revealed: "I do Wordle every day with my granddaughter. She'll text me to say, 'I've done it in three', and I say, 'Sorry, I've done it in two today.' It's very satisfactory when it tells you how brilliant you are!"

Born in February 2011, Freddy is Camilla's youngest grandchild, being born two months after his cousins, Gus and Louis. Freddy had a starring role at the coronation and was a page of honour alongside his cousins and Prince George.

Royal watchers will be aware that Eliza, who was born on 16 January 2008, was given the honour of being a bridesmaid at Prince William and Princess Kate's wedding in 2011. She was seen being picked up by her step-grandfather, then-Prince Charles, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to see the huge crowds.

Gus and Louis Lopes

Gus and Louis appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace alongside their grandmother, the now Queen, at the coronation. Camilla spoke to The Daily Mail about the unexpected surprise of twins: "Obviously I am being called on for more and more babysitting duties but it's wonderful. Laura was rather thrown when she was told she was having twins but we have never had them in the family before and I for one can't wait."

In March, Camilla joked about Louis, calling him a "handful" during a visit to the Isle of Man. Meanwhile, Gus had to put on a brace face at the coronation as the youngster fractured his arm in a bike accident ahead of the big day.

She has a very strong bond with the teens – who call her 'Gaga'. So too does her husband, who used to read them stories from the Harry Potter series and would even do impressions for their entertainment.

Of course, a great deal has changed since then with Camilla revealing in the same Vogue interview: "The girls are beginning to get into clothes and make-up and, you know, it's rather frightening when you see them, coming out with pierced ears and a lot of new make-up and funny-coloured hair and stuff."

The Queen also spoke about her regular communications with her grandchildren. "It’s very nice getting a text," she said. "We learn from very young people and they learn from us, too. That's the way it's always been."

And in an interview with Mail+ to celebrate her 75th birthday, the then-Duchess of Cornwall shared that her grandkids had introduced her to the group chatting app Houseparty, which allowed up to eight people to have a conversation.

Camilla also revealed that her younger relatives have shown her how to use TikTok.
