In honour of Princess Ingrid Alexandra's seventh birthday, royal fans got the chance for a glimpse into the family's recent private trip to India. And if the intimate family snaps are anything to go by, no-one enjoyed it more than the birthday girl herself.
The future Queen of Norway's love of animals is revealed in some of the pictures, in which she can be seeing petting a kitten and hugging a friendly dolphin. Some of the pics were taken by a professional photographer, but many were snapped by the family themselves. Ingrid can even be seen getting behind the lens in one, capturing a family portrait. The little princess, who turned seven on January 21, visited India with her parents Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon in November.
The family – including Prince Sverre Magnus and Marius, Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship – spent the winter months travelling during a trip designed to let the children experience other cultures. Mette-Marit's casual appearance in the shots is a stark contrast to her glammed-up guise in some new official portraits which were released this week. The crown princess appears with her husband and parents-in-law King Harald and Queen Sonja in the pictures.
