Prince William will make his first public appearance since the birth of his son Prince George, when he travels to Ascot to play in a charity polo match this weekend. While it was unsure whether the Duke of Cambridge would want to spend much time away from his one-week old son, Prince William has confirmed he will attend the Audi Polo Challenge on Saturday alongside his brother Prince Harry.
The royal siblings are experienced polo players and often play in matches that support charities close to their heart. This upcoming game will be held in aid of SkillForce, of which Prince William is patron, and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, of which the Duke of Cambridge is president.
The first-time father is no doubt busy adjusting to his new parenting role, but as his paternity leave finishes soon, the Duke of Cambridge will have to return to his royal duties and has already confirmed other royal engagements.
William has said he will go back to Anglesey where he is based as a search and rescue pilot to attend the Anglesey Show in mid-August. The new dad will watch gundog and falconry displays and view some cattle judging before moving to the central show area, where he will make a short speech before being presented with a gift.
The park is close to Bucklebury, where Kate, William and their newborn son Prince George are currently enjoying life as new parents at the Middleton family home.Earlier this month William cast doubt on his wife's expected due date when he played in a charity polo match in Gloucestershire, again accompanied by his brother. The game raised money for two charities the the royal couple support, Centrepoint and Child Bereavement UK, while Prince Harry raised funds for WellChild.
