Prince Harry arrived in Toronto on 2 May to mark the official countdown to Invictus Toronto, which will take place in September 2017.

During his day in the city, the Prince met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who praised the royal for the "extraordinary initiative and leadership he has taken around the Invictus Games".

After the meeting, which was held at the Fairmont Royal York hotel, the duo headed to the Ryerson Mattamy Athletic Centre where they watched the Canadian national sledge hockey team play a demonstration match.

Harry headed to Florida after his whirlwind stay in Toronto to attend the opening ceremony of the 2016 Invictus tournament, which will see more than 500 competitors from countries all over the world compete in 10 events- archery, indoor rowing, powerlifting, road cycling, sitting volleyball, swimming, athletics, wheelchair basketball, rugby and tennis.

The Prince, who was mobbed by youngsters at the Centre, happily posed for pictures with attendees, including the referee.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau insisted on taking a picture of Prince Harry with a fellow redhead, his photographer Adam Scotti.

Adam later tweeted the snap, captioning it: "I don't ever ask for a photo, but the PM took my camera and insisted on taking a photo of two #gingers #cdnpoli".

After the match, Harry and Justin received matching #17 hockey jerseys as they met with Invictus Games athletes.

At the end of a very eventful day, Prince Charles' youngest son greeted the crownds outside of Queens Park in Toronto.

He received several gifts, such as flowers and a box of biscuits.
