Airbnb has revealed its top ten most Wish Listed properties in the UK from users around the world, with this historic castle in Cumbria topping the list. 1. Historic Castle, Cumbria, England

With its idyllic location on the edge of both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, it is easy to see why the historic Augill Castle, which dates back to 1841, is so popular. The castle has 15 grand rooms to choose from, making it ideal for a group getaway, with many of the bedrooms featuring four poster beds, roll top baths and traditional fireplaces. A stay at the property costs £170 per night, with breakfast included.

2 Old Smock Windmill

2. Old Smock Windmill, Kent, England

For an unusual and romantic weekend away, it can't get much better than this Old Smock Mill, nestled in the Kent countryside. The four storey building has been carefully restored, with a beautiful bedroom furnished with a king size bed, a spiral staircase that leads up to the bathroom, and the original wooden beams running throughout. A stay costs £175 per night.

Ever wanted a romantic break in a treehouse? This unique Airbnb property is perched in an ash tree and offers incredible views of Falmouth Bay. The cosy home is accessible by ladders and has just enough room for one bedroom, a bathroom and dining/living area that sleeps two people for £100 per night.

This classic Victorian terraced house is located within walking distance of the river Thames, making it an ideal spot for tourists hoping to explore the capital. There is space for three guests in this private room, although the living areas and patio garden are shared. At £65 per night, it's more budget-friendly than many of London's hotels.

Another castle to make the list is the 12th century Dairsie Castle, which is just a 15 minute drive away from St Andrews. As well as providing a beautiful place to stay for up to 13 guests, the castle has a rich history too; it was a safe haven for both James VI and I in 1583 and has been the location of secret Scottish parliaments and military sieges. A one night stay for 13 will set you back £550.
