Is it second-time lucky for actress Kate Winslet? Less than a year after her divorce from first hubby Jim Threapleton, the Titanic star is rumoured to be set to wed her latest love, American Beauty director Sam Mendes.
The British newspaper Daily Express reports that Sam recently gave Kate a stunning three-carat antique diamond and ruby ring during a dinner at the couple’s North London home. According to a friend of the Iris actress, the Hollywood director said: “I love you so very much that nothing would make me happier than spending my life with you.”
Reports of an engagement come hot on the heels of other news that indicates the star couple are in it for the long term. Last week it was revealed that the pair, who began dating soon after the break-up of Kate’s marriage, have purchased a multi-million pound Cotswolds estate, adding to a cache of properties that already includes a £2-million Belsize Park home.
