Summer bride Rebecca follows family tradition in her dream British wedding

October 16, 2012

In true customary style, Rebecca Alff exchanged vows with her partner Adam in August, becoming the fourth generation in her family to wed at the St Mary's Parish Church in East Sussex. And to follow the nuptial ceremony in the 12th century church, Rebecca and Adam Wilson opted for a quintessentially British summer wedding in the stunning countryside close to their home.

Sporting an extravagant white vintage Beauford on their arrival of the reception, the newlyweds celebrated all things British. This was reiterated by an English wedding breakfast that was held in the Orangery restaurant at the 18th century country house, Powdermills Hotel, culminating with a barbeque that sizzled as the day progressed.

And with the unpredictable British weather forever looming, the couple were absolutely thrilled that not a drop of rain appeared to ruin the day, meaning guests were able to profit from the magnificent grounds surrounding the venue.

Rebecca was particularly pleased that her Great Grandma Ethel was able to attend the wedding, who at the age of 102 and still living on her own, celebrated throughout the day and even took to the dance floor later on.

Rebecca's six bridesmaids highlighted the summer feel to the August do, wearing pastel yellow gowns. Meanwhile the sunny countryside backdrop made the setting even more romantic – the grounds boasted lakes, bridges and a forest-like landscape surrounding the area.

Rebecca and Adam's sun filled celebrations demonstrate Britain's glowing potential as the perfect wedding destination. Amidst the unspoiled countryside and surrounded by closest family members, what could be a more perfect setting to embark on newly married life.
