Vintage veils for Sophie and Andrew's Hollywood-inspired wedding

January 28, 2013

Picking the perfect ring is something of an art. And when Sophie spotted hers in Yorkshire with partner Andrew by her side, he proposed immediately. After a steady nine-year relationship and joined by their little dog Amigo, Sophie Robinson and Andrew Masterman tied the knot this summer in Leeds. With meticulous planning and attention to detail, both Sophie and Andrew agreed that the theme of their day would not be a quintessentially British summer wedding do, but a vintage setting with all the razzmatazz of a Hollywood epic.

And they decided that no stone would be left unturned in their quest to make everyone feel that they were a part of the cast too. This of course meant that Sophie was determined to find the perfect vintage inspired lace gown to complement the theme of their special day. Designed by Alfred Angelo, the bride was the first to wear the elegant and stylish long-sleeved satin wedding dress detailed with intricate lace - before the full-length number recently appeared in the epic Twilight trilogy.

In keeping with the chosen theme, the church ceremony was transformed into a fairytale-like setting - the room adorned with beautiful bouquets of flowers and the red carpet strewn with pale rose petals. To add to the ambience, Sophie entered the room, on her father's arm, to the melancholy sound of Nat King Cole When I fall in love.

A close friend revealed to HELLO! Online: ''It was like watching a modern day Audrey Hepburn walk down the aisle.''

After the civil ceremony, champagne and strawberries were served followed by three extraordinary wedding cakes that appeared to feed the 130 guests at the reception. And to cap off their special day Sophie and Andy announced to their guests that they had been given £1500 in wedding gifts, and it was their intention to donate the grand total to St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds.
