Zara Phillips wedding dress to go on display with other celebrity bridal gowns

August 6, 2013

The iconic wedding dresses worn by celebrity brides such as Zara Phillips, Joan Collins and model Coco Rocha will go on display at a special exhibition at the "Brides The Show" event this October. "We've all seen the pictures, but now brides-to-be can see the dresses for real up close, taking in every detail of their luxurious design and finish," said Jade Beer, editor of Brides, the publication hosting the event.Over 20 gowns worn by royal brides, actresses, models and fashion designers have been borrowed and will be showcased to inspire brides-to-be for their big day.

Zara, who is expecting her first child with husband rugby star Mike Tindall, looked radiant on her wedding day in 2011. The Queen's granddaughter walked down the aisle in an ivory silk faille and Duchess satin gown, designed by couture master and royal couturier Stewart Parvin. She completed her bridal look with a cathedral-length veil and her mother's Greek tiara.Sharing centre stage with Zara's dress will be Coco's extravagant wedding gown. The custom-made dress was created by American fashion designer Zac Posen, who is known for his red-carpet style looks.

All eyes were on Coco as she tied the knot to artist James Conran, dressed in her organza, tulle, and silk crepe wedding gown, finished with a flamboyant mermaid tail. "Brides The Show" will take place from 11 to 13 October in Battersea, London. The event is part of the publication's ongoing campaign to raise £100,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, and each ticket holder will have the opportunity to donate money.
