Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton has swapped her gold medal for a stunning David M Robinson wedding band after marrying her performance scientist fiancé Scott Gardner.Speaking exclusively about their big day to HELLO! Magazine, Scott, 37, and Victoria, 32, tenderly recalled the highlights of their day.
"Seeing Scott at the top of the aisle is an image I'll keep in my mind forever," said Victoria. "I'm very lucky to have met him. If I hadn't had done sport, our paths would never have crossed. "The London 2012 cycling star looked radiant in a floor-length gown by British designer Suzanne Neville, and captured her fiancé's attention from the moment she walked into the church. "I was just blown away by how she looked," said Scott. "It was the vintage look, the shape of her body, the smile on her face. The day was amazing, brilliant and beautiful. "Scott and Victoria first met when the performance scientist was assigned to take care of the Team GB cycling team. The lovebirds tied the knot at Colshaw Hall, a country manor house in Cheshire, in front of a host of celebrity guests.
Victoria was joined by her Team GB friends, including swimmer Keri-Anne Payne and a number of her fellow cyclists. The couple's two Dobermans, Stella and Jonty, also made a special appearance after the ceremony.Victoria, who performed in Strictly Come Dancing after the Olympics, chose the TV show's in-house band to dance the night away, and actor Colin Salmon added some showbiz style by playing along with the band on his trumpet. For the full story and more pictures, see HELLO! issue 1294 on newsstands now or buy our iPad issue with extra photos, by clicking here.
