Christina Ricci ties the knot with camera technician love in Park Avenue ceremony

Christina Ricci has begun her first week as a married woman, after tying the knot with her fiancé James Heerdegen.The pair said "I do" during an intimate evening ceremony in New York on Saturday. Proceedings kicked off at 7pm at lavish Park Avenue venue Harold Pratt house & Peterson Hall – a town house dating from 1920 which is also the headquarters of the Council on foreign relations.

Christina was the epitome of bridal elegance in an embroidered white silk tulle Givenchy Haute Couture gown with a matching veil. According to US sources the bride swept her hair into an up'do – a side bun.After the romantic ceremony the bridal party enjoyed cocktails followed by dinner and dancing.Christina announced her engagement to James – a camera technician – in February. The pair first met on the set of Pan Am, a Sixties-set TV show which followed the lives of the pilots and stewardesses of the famous airline.

After James popped the question Christina got to work designing her own dress and took charge of preparations, since her fiancé was so busy."[Jimmy] is not really into fashion that much," Christina said after news of their engagement came to light. "He’s not even going to help plan the wedding. He's working. He's always working. "The actress told US publication People in the summer: "Getting to say 'fiancé' instead of 'boyfriend' is my favorite thing. I can't wait for 'husband'."
