David Arquette and his fiancée Christina McLarty are living on cloud nine. As the couple stepped out to a high-profile event in Aspen for the first time since announcing their engagement, all eyes were on bride-to-be Christina and her new ring. Christina, who is mum to the couple's two-month-old son Charlie, couldn't resist holding out her hand to show off her sparkler on the red carpet.

Standing alongside her, David, 42, beamed from ear to ear as he motioned at the new ring. The mammoth rock looked to be a black diamond set in platinum or white gold and flanked with two halos of white diamonds, jewellery specialists 77 Diamonds told HELLO! Online. David popped the question less than a week ago on 2 July, when the couple were enjoying a family dinner out in Aspen with their newborn son and David's ten-year-old daughter Coco, from his marriage to Courteney Cox. As the sun was setting at the ocean-view restaurant, David proposed to his girlfriend of three years. "Coco, did you know?" Christina, 33, was heard asking Coco, who replied, "Maybe!" before giggling, "Engaged! Engaged!"

David and Christina have been dating since 2011 and briefly split in mid-2012. The couple soon rekindled their romance and in November they announced that they were expecting their first child together. The news came just a week after Courteney, 50, announced her own engagement to Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid. The couple had been dating for less than a year before the musician got down on one knee. "David was just waiting for the right time," a source told US Magazine. "He and Courteney both talked about taking the next step in their relationships… They both want what's best for each other." David and the former Friends actress were married for eleven years but divorced in 2013.
