Cheryl Cole changes name as she thanks fans for 'kind messages and well wishes'

After announcing over social media on Sunday that she had married her boyfriend of three months, Cheryl Cole  thanked her fans for all of their kind messages and well wishes – as she removed the surname Cole from her Twitter handle.

Cheryl was previously married to footballer Ashley Cole but never changed her name as she had built an international identitly using the sportsman's surname.

The X Factor judge, 31, revealed her surprise wedding news on Sunday night by posting a picture of her engagement and wedding ring. "I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14..," read the text accompanying the picture.

"❤️ We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.." The Crazy Stupid Love singer's beautiful have been valued by diamond experts at nearly £300,000.

The handsome restaurateur is Cheryl Cole's first serious romance since splitting from backing dancer Tre Holloway last summer. Jean-Bernard runs pop-up restaurant and celeb hangout Cosy Box in Cannes, and it is thought this is where the hot new couple first met. At the end of May, they made their first public appearance in Britain together at the trendy Chiltern Firehouse in London.
