Katherine Jenkins has married her American film director love Andrew Levitas. The mezzo-soprano, 34, chose Hampton Court Palace in London to tie the knot with her fiancé of five months. Taking to Twitter to share her joy, Katherine wrote: "Thank you for all your love & support. It's already been such a special day & wanted to share my happiness with you xxx."
The Neath-born singer and her beau were given special permission from Buckingham Palace to fly the Welsh dragon at their wedding venue. At around 6pm, the flag was raised as the celebrations got underway with security tight around the former royal residence.
Guests were treated to a wedding breakfast that gave a nod to Katherine's native country, including Welsh cheeses, black beef and lamb.
Katherine and Andrew got engaged in mid-April, after dating for six months. The writer was first introduced as her boyfriend when he accompanied her to Buckingham Palace to receive an OBE from Prince Charles in March. "Katherine is over the moon," her representative told People at the time of the proposal. This was not the first time the star had been engaged. In 2011 she announced that she was to wed former Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones. Following their split, Katherine headed Stateside and now splits her time between London and New York.
