Scarlett Johansson and her new husband Romain Dauriac attended their first high-profile event together, just hours after the news broke that they had secretly tied the knot. The beautiful couple are said to have married in October, shortly after the arrival of their first child Rose. Taking time off baby duty for the night, Scarlett and Romain were guests at the IFP's 24th Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York on Monday evening. The couple looked delightfully in love as they walked up the red carpet, with Scarlett flashing her new diamond wedding band.

The Lucy actress, 30, took an alternative take on the classic LBD, wowing in a black minidress that skimmed her thighs and featured a sequined scalloping design. The new mum added even more sparkle to her look with a silver clutch bag and diamond stud earrings. French journalist Romain proved his wife's best accessory as he donned a black suit and crisp white shirt for the star-studded affair. The couple mingled with A-listers including Julianne Moore, and at one point Romain whipped out his phone to show the actress a photograph. Judging by the expression on Julianne's face, the new dad may well have been showing off his newborn baby daughter.

Romain stayed at his wife's side close to the night, introducing the love of her life as "my husband" to fellow guests. "They sat next time to each other the whole night," a source told People. "He also had his arm around her back. They both had rings on the ring finger. She was glowing and smiling a lot. They looked very happy."

Romain is also said to have "beamed" when Scarlett took to the podium to present the award for best documentary, which went to the Edward Snowden tale Citizenfour. Scarlett herself lost out to Julianne for the best actress prize, but looked to show no hard feelings. The blonde glamazon and her new husband welcomed baby Rose in early September, one year after they got engaged. The couple had been dating since 2012.
