Judy Murray close to finding dress for son Andy's wedding

March 9, 2015

Judy Murray is giving little away about what she'll be wearing to her son's wedding, but the tennis coach has revealed that she has almost got hold of the perfect outfit. Her younger son Andy Murray is set to tie the knot with his long-term girlfriend Kim Sears next month.

As the mother-of-the-groom, all eyes will be on Judy, 55, as well as the leading lady Kim.

"I've almost got my dress, almost – not quiet but almost," Judy told Press Association. With a coy smile she added, "I'm not giving anybody anything about what I'm wearing, it's top secret."

Judy, who often cheers her son courtside with her future daughter-in-law Kim, was speaking at the Comic Relief Danceathon for Red Nose Day 2015. The Scotswoman also hit back at critics who have highlighted Andy's failure to secure a Grand Slam title since his 2013 Wimbledon victory.

"Well of course that's what every tennis player is aiming to do," said Judy. "The ultimate goal is to win a Grand Slam. There are some unbelievable players to get past so it's not an easy thing to do.

"He's managed to do it twice, he's been in several finals also, so his record in slams is really quite incredible as it is. Whether he'll win another one or not, who knows? I hope he does and I know that's what he's trying to do.

"It's a very, very tough thing to do, to come out at the end of a grand slam. I mean 128 people start at the main draw and only one person wins."

Andy and Kim, both 27, will exchange vows on 11 April. The couple, who got engaged in November, have reportedly chosen to wed at the luxury Scottish Cromlix House Hotel, which Andy bought in 2013 for an estimated £1.8 million.

The five-star hotel near Dunblane, which houses ten bedrooms and five luxury suites, opened its doors last year after a refurbishment.

It was the same stunning setting for the wedding of Andy's older brother Jamie to his bride Alejandra Gutierrez in 2010. While Andy acted as his sibling's best man, it is not yet known whether the Wimbledon champion has asked his brother to do the same honour.

"I haven't been asked yet so I'm still waiting on that one," Jamie, 29, told the BBC earlier this year. "We'll see. If I get asked, great. If not, then it's not the end of the world. I'm sure it'll be a good day."

"He was best man at my wedding," added Jamie. "And I told him he didn't have to do a speech because I didn't want him to be stressed right through the day and not be able to enjoy it.

"I could do a speech if he wants me to, but I'm not going to be sticking my hand up for the front of the queue."
