Irina Shayk closes Pronovias in sensational wedding dress

May 11, 2015

The best really was saved for last at Barcelona Bridal Week, when Irina Shayk closed the Atelier Pronovias show on Friday night. The Russian model sashayed down the catwalk in a truly breathtaking wedding dress, stunning her fellow stars seated on the front row.

Irina, 29, was given a sensational gown to wear by the Spanish fashion house, which embodied the collection's Once Upon A Time theme to the maximum.

Her dress was made from Pronovias' signature lace and a sophisticated layer of nude tulle, creating the illusion of a second-skin effect.

Irina Shayk said that the Pronovias wedding dress she wore to close the show was her "favourite"

The mermaid-style gown shaped Irina's figure to perfection, and was finished off with a flowing train that trailed behind the top model as she strutted up and down the runway.

Irina herself admitted that the final gown she donned for the show was her "favourite", while the experience of going back to Barcelona was "a pleasure".

"I do not exclude the possibility to get married someday," admitted Irina, who has just started dating Hollywood hunk Bradley Cooper. "If that day comes true, I'm sure my wedding will be surrounded by good friends and the closest persons of my life."

During the show Irina – who was joined on the catwalk by fellow models Blanca Padilla, Constance Jablonski and Romee Strijd among others – wore two other Pronovias creations.

An equally ethereal gown came in the form of a floral-embroidered number that featured a tulle skirt and plunging back.

Irina also modelled an extremely fashion-forward piece that would suit the modern bride, as it was made of delicate silk and featured straight cut lines and a flowing cape.

Pronovias' 2016 collection embodied the Once Upon A Time theme

Pronovias' latest collection, according to the fashion house, was inspired by fairytale princesses, and its designs featured plunging fronts and backs, pure lines, volume and delicate details.

Notable materials used included crêpe, organza, cotton pique, Mikado and organza silk as well as Chantilly lace. The collection was completed with tiaras and jewelled headdresses.
