The Rock officiates fan's surprise wedding

Dwayne Johnson, who became famous in the Nineties as his wrestling alter-ego the Rock, lived up to his good guy reputation on Saturday 16 May, when he officiated the wedding of one of his biggest fans. The surprise ceremony took place after comedian Nick Mundy, a huge Rock fan and film journalist, was told he would not be filming a comedy segment with the actor during a junket.

Nick - who rocked up wearing American flag trousers and a baseball hat - was told that there was no time with Dwayne. But his disappointment later turned to joy - and shock - when the San Andreas actor walked him down the aisle and joined Nick and his fiancée, Dilara Karabas, in matrimony.

Afterwards, Nick revealed that his first thought was concern that Dilara "was cool with this".

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Nick, who works for Screen Junkies, added: "The second one was, 'I have hat hair, I'm sweating and wearing American flag pants.' And then my best man and writing partner threw my jacket on me, and the next thing I know, the Rock was walking me down the aisle and the music was starting and I signed the marriage license.

"The whole thing was insane."

Dwayne also reportedly ensured that Dilara became involved in the entire process, making certain that the bride did not feel like her day was taken over. Dilara spent months secretly coordinating the wedding with Screen Junkies, who also made sure that the pair's families were flown out to Los Angeles.

She said: "I did lie about things. The hardest part was I wanted to tell him, because I tell him everything."

Nick and Dwayne's friendship began in 2013 when Nick interviewed Dwayne for Pain & Gain. His interview became famous due to his nervousness at meeting Dwayne, but Dwayne reportedly loved Nick's passion and insisted Nick interview him for Hercules and Fast and Furious 7.

Their previous videos have included Dwayne calling people from Nick's past who have wronged him, and in an amusing twist, Nick begging Dwayne to be his best man at the wedding.
