Former Sugababes star Heidi Range is set to become a married woman. The singer announced the exciting news of her engagement to Alex Partakis on Twitter on Friday evening – the day before her 32nd birthday."Delighted to share the news that my gorgeous @alexpartakis proposed last night!" she wrote on the social media site. "Am the happiest girl alive and can't wait to be Mrs HP."

Alex, who has been dating the Liverpool-born star for around 18 months, was also thrilled to share the news. "Am the happiest man in the World today," he tweeted. "@Heidi_range said yes! Can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together xxx."
Heidi joined Sugababes in 2001, when she replaced Siobhán Donaghy and joined Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan in the British girl band.During her time with the group they made six UK number one singles, including Round Round, Freak Like Me and Push the Button, and two number one studio albums – Taller in More Ways and Change.In 2011, however, Heidi left the band and shortly after her departure she took part in the 2012 series of Dancing on Ice.Heidi, who was partnered with Andrei Lipanov, was eliminated in the seventh round of the show – which was later won by Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden.In recent years Heidi has appeared on TV screens in shows including the 8th series of Celebrity MasterChef, which aired in summer 2013. She has also tried her hand at acting, starring as Pinky Tuscadero in a theatre production of Happy Days.

Heidi has been engaged once before. MTV and Capital London presenter Dave Berry proposed to her during a New Year's Eve holiday in India although on 10 December 2011 Heidi revealed that the couple had separated after eight years together.
