Every bride wants to feel like a princess on their wedding day, but former Disney star Aly Michalka looked like one as she married her film producer fiancé Stephen Ringer in a romantic ceremony in Italy. She matched the embellished gown with a dainty headband and completed her outfit with a cascading veil, looking like she stepped out of a storybook.
The couple, who got engaged almost a year ago, flew to the charming village of Portofino to hold their celebrations at the Belmond Hotel Splendido.
The bride and groom had asked friends and family to share their pictures and videos online, using the hashtag "Put a ringer on it" as a play on Stephen's name.
In one short clip Aly, 26, was seen blowing a kiss to her friend before she walked down the petal-strewn aisle to meet her future husband. The actress had one flower girl who matched her in a lavender dress, while her best friend Raymond Braun acted as a "proud bridesmaid."
With the Italian sun shining down, Aly and Stephen said "I do" under an outdoor canopy that was also adorned with purple flowers and leaves. After the ceremony the newlyweds had a photoshoot overlooking the port, before dining alfresco where they cut their cake by the hotel swimming pool.
Aly and Stephen, 30, met in 2012 on the set of Sequoia, the film in which the pretty brunette played the lead role and Stephen was in charge of cinematography. The couple got engaged in Big Sur, California in July of last year.
At the time Aly announced the happy news with an Instagram photo of her vintage-inspired, square cut diamond ring. "So this happened.....7/8," she captioned it, with the date of her engagement.
The singer, who is one half of the musical duo 78violet (formerly Aly & AJ) with her sister AJ Michalka, added that she was feeling "very blessed" in a post on Twitter.
