With a love for gardening, it comes as no surprise that Michelle Keegan spent countless hours trying to find the perfect flowers for her wedding to Mark Wright. The bride wanted everything to be as clean, crisp and white as possible, to match her Hollywood Glamour theme.
"I was looking for ages and we were going to go with pinks at first, pinks and white, but because we were having black tuxes and the bridesmaids were green, it didn't work well," said Michelle.
The actress, who was speaking in an interview with her wedding florists Interflora, sought out the whitest flowers and settled on hydrangeas, lisianthus, white roses, gypsophila and delphiniums.

"I wanted everything to look really clean," said Michelle. "I wanted everything to be classic – the black tuxes and my bridesmaid dresses are very classic, very minimum, very elegant; they are a sage green which worked well with the flowers. I thought white would complement everything and tie everything together."

Michelle Keegan joked that Mark Wright had "no say" in choosing the flowers
After scouring through Pinterest and wedding magazines, Michelle sat down with Karen Barnes, head of product development at Interflora, who created a bespoke moodboard for the bride.
"I told her what I liked, my style of flowers, and as soon as she showed me the moodboard I knew she had me straight away, she got what I liked," said the TV star. "It was just what I wanted, it was exactly what I envisioned. It was like someone had gone in my mind and put it on a piece of paper, so I was thrilled!"
"Flowers make a church look more like a wedding venue rather than just a church so for me, they are really important," said Michelle
As someone who loves gardening like her mum and always has fresh flowers in her house, especially carnations, Michelle was the driving force behind choosing the wedding flowers.
Joking that her other half Mark had no say in the process, Michelle said: "To be fair, Mark's got the same taste as me when it comes to things like that, so I knew what he liked as well. And we liked the Hollywood Glamour look, everything's clean and that's what we wanted with the flowers."
The bride added: "I wanted everything to look really clean and classic"
The entrance to the church, the pew ends, the centrepieces at the reception and more – everywhere you looked there were flowers at Mark and Michelle's wedding.
"I think they play a massive part and it's what people remember," said the bride. "When you walk in the room and you see flowers I think that's the wow factor of any wedding. And it makes a church look more like a wedding venue rather than just a church. So for me, they are really important."

For her own flowers, Michelle had two crystal "M" pieces intertwined into her bouquet to represent her and Mark. "I wanted a bouquet which was more rounded, easy for me to carry, all white and it would sit well with my whole outfit," said the star.
